Rehabilitation and support services include:

  • Evelyn Trammel Voice and Swallowing Center - diagnostic and rehabilitative services for patients with impaired ability to speak and swallow following treatment for head and neck cancer. One of only a handful of centers of its kind in the country, it is staffed by highly-trained therapists.
  • Saint Joseph's Palliative Care Program - Led by a palliative care physician, the multidisciplinary palliative care team consults with patients, families, physicians and staff to relieve suffering and provide comfort for those facing end of life decisions and develop a plan of care consistent with the patient’s wishes.
    • Educational programs available for staff and the community at large.
    • In 2005, the Saint Joseph's Mercy Foundation established The Hughes Spalding, Jr. Fund for Palliative Care for the continued growth and development of the palliative care program.
