Nurse Internship
We support your transition from student nurse to registered nurse. Making the move from the classroom to the patient floor is never easy. That's why at Saint Joseph's we offer a new Graduate Internship Program to help you get the experience you need to find success in your career.
The New Graduate Nurse Internship program includes:
- A one year Nurse internship with 2-3 rotations
- Structured classes with the UHC/ANCC curriculum, workshops and an evidence-based research project
- Available resources including: Preceptors, Nursing Managers, Directors and Educators
Requirements:
- 3.0 GPA., BSN
- References from two nursing instructors.
- Official transcript.
- Georgia licensure.
- One year, full time commitment following Internship completion

Externship Program
Experience the world of nursing before you graduate. The more you know about nursing, the better prepared you will be for a nursing career. Our Nursing Extern Program is designed to give you a hands-on professional experience before you begin your career as a nurse. During this eight-week program you will be paired with a registered nurse and supported by clinical nurse specialists. You also will be awarded a certificate for your successful Extern Program upon completion.
The Nursing Extern Program includes:
- Eight-week program.
- Temporary full-time positions (no benefits).
- Combination of 8 and 12 hour shifts depending
on the Preceptor's schedule (36/40 hours/week).
- Educational Classes
- Evidence based Poster project
Requirements:
- Rising Senior nursing student in a BSN program
- Current transcript
- Two clinical instructor references
- Current BCLS
- Commitment to 8 week program
