Mercy Foundation

For more than 125 years, Saint Joseph's, Atlanta’s oldest hospital, has been dedicated to the metropolitan community and to a powerful mission: excellent clinical and nursing care delivered with compassion, dignity and respect. This approach to healing, brought to a post-Civil War city by four determined Sisters of Mercy, continues to make the Saint Joseph’s experience an exceptional one for all who need it, regardless of their ability to pay.

The philanthropic vision that first inspired the Sisters over a century ago is still carried on today through the generous support of donors and volunteers.

Saint Joseph’s Mercy Foundation is the fund-raising arm of Saint Joseph’s Health System. Through dedicated volunteers and generous friends, the foundation raises funds from individuals, corporations, private foundations and the federal and state government. These contributions help meet the community’s vast medical needs through Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Saint Joseph’s Mercy Care Services and the new Saint Joseph’s Research Institute.
