Published Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Amanda Rosseter has joined Saint Joseph's Hospital as Manager of Communications and Media Relations and will serve as spokesperson for the Health System.  Amanda brings 19 years of award-winning national and local television news experience to Saint Joseph's and will help launch a new multi-media communications and marketing initiative for the hospital.

"Amanda has spent her career turning complex situations into compelling, award-winning stories," says Heather Dexter, Vice President of Surgical Services and Planning for Saint Joseph's Health System. "She brings extraordinary expertise in the communications field, and we are honored to have her as part of our team."

A four-time Emmy winner, Amanda has been honored twice for documentary writing and twice for investigative reporting. She has also won three national awards, including a prestigious Alfred I. DuPont - Columbia University Broadcast Journalism Award for investigative reporting, a national Edward R. Murrow award for documentary, and a Gabriel Award from the National Catholic Association for documentary writing. In addition, she has received two regional Edward R. Murrow awards and ten Associated Press awards.

Amanda was also honored by her alma mater, the Grady College of Journalism at the University of Georgia, with the 2002 John E. Drewry Outstanding Young Alumnus Award.  She is currently a member of the Grady College Alumni Board.

"I am thrilled to join Saint Joseph's and have the opportunity to communicate the leading edge medical care and innovation that happens in this health system every day," says Amanda. "Throughout my news career, my best work has been health and medical reporting that informed consumers, impacted lives and changed perspectives. This position combines my passion for health policy with communications and journalism."

Most recently, Amanda served as weekend morning news anchor and weekday reporter at WSB-TV in Atlanta. She joined WSB in 2006 after moving from Boston, Massachusetts, where she served as the primary evening news anchor at NECN, the largest regional cable operation in the United States.
