Saint Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta recently earned triennial accreditation by The Joint Commission, marking its compliance with the highest national standards in patient safety and quality of care. The accreditation is based on the results of an unannounced on-site review from The Joint Commission in May 2009.
"Receiving this accreditation honors the efforts of the entire Saint Joseph's Hospital team, from every discipline and at every level, who are continually engaged in strengthening the safety and quality standards we strive to provide each of our patients," said Kirk Wilson, president and CEO of Saint Joseph's Health System.
The Joint Commission accreditation also provides deeming authority for Medicare certification.
Founded in 1951, The Joint Commission is dedicated to continuously improving the safety and quality of the nation's health care through voluntary accreditation.
